David and His New Doggie Hair-do

David got his hair cut by yours truly this last week. Yup, Mr. I hate being groomed is getting pretty good at it now! I have been grooming him at least once a month to try and get him used to the formal routine. Out of standing still, laying down, head up, head down, the two he still has not learned no matter how hard and how often I have tried: Getting up on the grooming table and shying from the dryer.

Here is David's "Mom, why did you have to go and do this groomie thing again?!" look:

And, his "I feel so good and comfy and happy and I want to lick the camera and get as close as I can" look:

And his "No, you don't ever groom me again" look:

I will go easy on the youngster. David is two years old. We have had him for one of those two years. I do think for the abandoned boy who I willingly took in well over a year ago he is doing great! I think once he associates peace and pamperedness enough he will finally jump on that table. Lord God Almighty knows he can leap for a frisbie.... though he rarely can catch it. LOL!

With all these grooming comes some short hair, being a poodle I hope he gets used to the clipping, scissors, and hair dryer :) One thing I do know is that after David gets his groom job done he feels mighty  zesty.

Today is for the Dogs

What a day! It is upward 95 degreeze here in Southern California. The dogs, with an interior body temperature of 102 are relaxing like it's going out of style!

Isabella is sprawled out on the bed, Eduardo is stretched out on the cold tile, and David is by the door curled up in a ball.

These pooches are so spoiled I put ice in their waterbowl and favs them a refrigerated bone-- now can someone go get me an icecream?? Lol!

We will try to enjoy the fall if summer would bud out! Hope where you are is cool and if not you are taking time and refuge away from the heat and finding an oasis of cool at the mall, in your home, or poolside! Enjoy this beautiful Sunday!

Hope and Inspiration of Dogs

Oh boy it has been some time since I have written ... life does get busy! Recently I have been inclined to spend my efforts on the fight for our country and her continued freedom.

Though I have been sidetracked there is something I have noticed now more than ever. Dogs are peaceful creatures. They are not affected by the day to day goings on of life. Dogs are also oblivious of the politics that go on or the turmoil around the world.

These glorious creatures love and dare to continue loving even when we are in the foulest of moods or are impacted by the outside world. My loving David for instance, while Obama was spewing his humdrum of "global economy" was grooming his adorable puppy self unaffected by the man on the big screen.

I captured this image to remind me of what really matters, love, life, family, and peace. I love you David and you forever give me joy!

The Best News Ever, So Far At Least!

I was online tonight and read the most interesting dog-gone thing ever.

My grandma, I recall, received meals on wheels to help supplement her food supply. This service provided her daily lunches to ensure she was fed at least once a day. Great program, I think! Well what about the cat she owned? Did he get fed ?

Well the story in the following link tells us about a girl scout group which deserves some kudos for helping those four legged friends that cant help themselves, and whose owners may or may not have forgot to feed them, or may just be finding it hard to afford to feed them.
